Maryum Sekandary

MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Maryum Sekandary is a Southern California native and nurse practitioner with 12 years of experience in high-pressure inner-city emergency rooms, as well as private practice. A former esthetician, she serves a diverse clientele, addressing a broad range of health concerns. Maryum is passionate about creating personalized, holistic care plans that seamlessly integrate Western medical practices with therapeutic Eastern traditions. Her approach is grounded in science while honoring the unique needs of each individual and their support system.

Her journey to nursing was anything but typical. Beginning as a psychology student, she explored careers in finance and real estate before discovering her true passion for healthcare and holistic medicine. In 2020, while working as a full-time ER nurse at St. Bernardine’s Hospital and completing her Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner at Chamberlain University, Maryum was diagnosed with stage IV lymphoma. Now a cancer survivor, she intimately understands the delicate balance between the body’s fragility and its incredible resilience. Her personal experience shapes her practice as she blends clinically proven treatments with holistic approaches to address emotional trauma and physical pain.

Maryum is dedicated to guiding her patients and their families through complex treatment options, always with a focus on fostering lifelong healthy habits and a deep commitment to self-care. She believes that true healing involves not only the body, but the mind and spirit as well. Residing in Orange County with her daughter, Maryum continues to find joy in hiking, yoga, reading, and embarking on new adventures with family and friends—a reflection of her belief in living a balanced, fulfilling life.
